7月19日晚，“首届国际青春诗会——金砖国家专场”在浙江杭州盛大开幕，来自金砖十国的72位诗人齐聚钱江之滨、西子湖畔，共赴这场青春的盛会、文学的盛会。
细心的观众或许能够发现，伴随着开幕式最后《友谊地久天长》的歌声响起，背景大屏上缓缓滚动过一首长诗和参加此次国际青春诗会的72位诗人的名字；这首诗也同样出现在《诗刊》首届国际青春诗会“金砖国家专场”特刊的第一页上：“首届国际青春诗会——金砖国家专场”诗人同写一首诗，下面写着“这首诗献给我们”。
这首诗献给我们，这是一首我们的诗。在筹备此次国际青春诗会之初，中国作协就有了这样一个关于“我们”和诗的想法。中国古代就有联句这种独特悠久的诗歌传统和形式，代表着诗人之间的交流与合作。此次国际青春诗会是跨越山海的文明交流盛事，10个国家、72位诗人，同写一首诗，正象征着世界各地热爱和平、友谊、文学的人们的美好愿景、交流与合作。
这一想法得到了各国参会诗人的积极响应。一位诗人，一句诗；友谊是一条金线，连缀起每一句诗歌的璎珞——最终，呈现为面前这首献给我们的诗。
